This is an oppressive, somber slow-burn, steeped in the suffocating atmosphere of a turn-of-the-century village. It's a quiet, defiant exploration of repression and the yearning for personal liberation, wrapped in a mysterious, intimate historical drama. A journey of self-discovery.
